Summary
McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain model year 2015 Atlantic front loader refuse trucks manufactured May 22, 2015, to October 26, 2015, and equipped with an optional tailgate for a compressed natural gas (CNG) system. The affected trucks may have been manufactured without rear and side rear red reflectors. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
Consequence
Missing reflectors can cause the vehicle to be less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
McNeilus will notify owners, and dealers will install the missing four reflectors, free of charge. The recall began on January 8, 2016. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278. McNeilus' number for this recall is VSR-TSB-015.
